City of Hope Triples Lawn Bowling Tournament

On May 12, 2007, at the Santa Anita Lawn Bowling Club in Arcadia, the annual City of Hope Triples Lawn Bowling Tournament was held.  It is a tournament that raises money for the City of Hope, a biomedical and research facility in Southern California.

Over $3,000 was raised this year and the tournament was a big success.  Each round in the tournament consisted of three 10-end games.  The twenty-four teams were split into two groups, A and B, divided by experience. (The A level consisted of the most experienced players.)

Santa Monica LBC Members Phil Dunn, Marty Bierman and Moses Rahminov played in the "A" level, with Phil playing skip, Marty playing vice, and Moses playing lead. Their formidable team won all three of their games and walked away with the championship, for which they received plaques.

It was a fine showing by these fantastic representatives of SMLBC. Congratulations!
